About Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton was born in Ripley, Surrey, England, on March 30, 1945. At age of 14 he took up the guitar influenced by blues artists. Clapton is the only three time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once as a solo artist, and separately as a member of The Yardbirds and Cream. Eric became known as "god", as he impressed the whole English music scene with his amazing guitar playing. Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Claptons musical style has undergone multiple changes during his career, but has always remained rooted in the blues. In March 1970 Eric launched his highly successful solo career, by releasing a first solo album, which featured Delaney and Bonnie.
Eric got seventeen Grammy Awards and in 2004 Clapton was awarded a CBE for services to music. In 2008, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
