The Who have announced that they are currently planning a tour, which they hope will take place in spring 2011.
The Who is Currently in the planning stages for a 2011 tour and Daltrey admitted that it would be more than just a greatest hits show.
"We have thought about that [doing a greatest hits tour]," he said. "But what is a greatest hits show? All the hits and nothing else, and none of the obscure? That would bore me shitless. If we did a greatest hits tour, everybody would say, 'We're bored with that, give us something else'. We can never please everybody."
The dates are likely to see the band perform their 1973 rock opera 'Quadrophenia'. The Who recently performed 'Quadrophenia' live with members of Pearl Jam and Kasabian as part of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Who are an English rock band formed in 1964 by Roger Daltrey (vocals), Pete Townshend (guitar), John Entwistle (bass) and Keith Moon (drums). They became known for energetic live performances which often included instrument destruction. The Who have sold about 100 million records and have charted 27 top forty singles in the United Kingdom and United States with 17 top ten albums, with 18 Gold, 12 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone.

Live at Leeds, along with Deep Purples In Rock, Black Sabbaths eponymous album and Led Zeppelins Led Zeppelin II, was one of the albums that brought hard rock into the mainstream during the early 70s after the flowery acid infused rock of the mid 60s.
