George Michael was born on June 25, 1963 in East Finchley, London, England is an English pop musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. Michael began his career by forming a band called The Executive together with his school friend Andrew Ridgeley in 1980 and got famous with pop duo Wham. Their first album, Fantastic!, was an instant success. George went on to have a hugely successful career as a solo artist. His first solo single, "Careless Whisper" was released when he was still in the duo and sold about six million copies worldwide. Debut single "Faith" was one of his biggest hit singles as a solo artist which sold over 25 million copies worldwide in 1987. Over the last three decades George has notched up 8 number one albums in the UK and 13 number one singles and his greatest hits includes Father Figure, One More Try, Freedom 90, Fast love, Jesus To a Child, Dont Let the Sun Go Down on Me, Shoot the Dog and Freeek!
George Michael has won many National and International music awards throughout his 30 year career, including three Brit Awards, three American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, and two times Grammy Awards from eight categories nominations.
