About Here and Now
Here and Now is a musical band from England. The band was created in the beginning of 1974. Basically the band was popular for jamming. Here and Now always followed a policy, which was quite strict, that it always performed at the festival or show that was free. The band was initially created by Keith Dobson who was the drummer and Paul Noble aka Twink. Then, the band was joined by Keith Bailey who was a bassist and the guitarist, Stephen. They all joined at a performance at a festival that was free at Watchfield. This led to the formation of the band Here and Now formally.
In the year 1977, Gilli Smyth and Daevid Allen hired this band. The band was made to take tour of different places to give performance with the name Planet Gong. With the same members, the band released an album namely Floating Anarchy 1977. In addition, they also released a solo song Opium For the People. Here and Now also came into a strong alliance with the group Alternative TV. They made tours to different places with this combination during the year 1978. They also released an album, What You See is What You Are with the same combination. During the years 1980 and 81 the band made a lot of tours spending the nights in their convertible bus.
Some of the popular performances that they made during this time were summer festivals that were free like Deeply Vale, Glastonbury and Stonehenge. This band released its last album in September, 2010.
