About Interpol
Interpol is an American musical band whose main genre is post-punk. This band emerged from New York City in 1997 and originally comprised of Greg Drudy as the drummer and percussionist, Carlos Dengler as keyboardist and bass guitarist, Paul Banks as guitarist and vocalist and Daniel Kessler as Vocalist and guitarist. In 2000, Greg Drudy left the band and was replaced by Sam Fogarino while in 2010, Dengler also left in order peruse his solo career. Currently, the band comprises of Banks, Kessler and Fogarino only. Interpol is one of those bands which have been associated with New York City's indie music scene and have come out of the revival of post-punk genre during 2000s.
It is the band members who handle everything related to songwriting for the band and except for lyrics, they do not tend to rely on any professional. Interpol produces a music that is a fusion of rhythmic and staccato with snare heavy mix. The latter beings in a touch of what previously punk band used to do while the earlier mentioned bring in a touch of the revival scene. Interpol released its first album in 2002. It was titled Turn on the Bright Lights that charted and met critical acclaim. Its 2004 and 2007 albums; Antics and Our Love to Admire also remained heavily successful.
Interpol released its fourth album in 2010 that was titled, Interpol and following this, the band has done a few tours. Their concerts have been immensely successful. All members of Interpol also concentrate on side projects along with working on the productions of this band.
