About Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys is a New York City based trio whose genre is primarily hip-hop. The band formed in 1979 and is still actively serving the hip-hop fans becoming one of the longest living hip-hop acts of all times. They began with as a hardcore punk band and appeared on New York Thrash. Later in time, their first EP (extended play) was released. It was entitled �Polly Wog Stew� and received a mild success. This was in 1982. The year 1983 saw Beastie Boys converting their genre to hip-hop with their EP, Cooky Puss. In 1984, a series of unbeatably successful singles came out of their studios and finally, their first album, Licensed to Ill. Following the release of the album, the band enjoyed endless commercial success and much of international critical acclaim.

Beastie Boys have eight studio albums to their record with each of them having enjoyed much of success and positive reviews. The band has been nominated in several award show categories and are still enjoying, wide-scale success. The band has done several tours across the continents and their albums and singles have been topping charts not just in the US but all around the globe. Beastie Boys have also received many awards, worth mentioning reviews in papers and magazines and have given mind blowing performances in many music festivals in many countries.

Then band, comprising Michael Diamond known as Mike D, Adam Horovitz known as Ad-Rock and Adam Yauch known as MCA, released their last album in 2009 are leaving tours and greatly enjoying stage performances.
