About Morrissey
Morrissey is an English singer and a lyricist. His full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey but is known commonly by his last name. Even though he had begin his showbiz career in the early 1970s, he only became popular in the 1980s when he began working as a vocalist and lyricist for the alternative rock band, The Smiths. The band saw much of fame and success but came to an end in 1987 and from there, Morrissey began his solo career. As far as his solo productions are concerned, Morrissey has ten singles that reached amongst the Top 10 in UK Singles Chart. NME magazine described Morrissey as 'one of the most influential artists ever.'
He is also regarded as an eminent pioneer of indie music. According to The Independent, 'most pop stars have to be dead before they reach the iconic status he has reached in his lifetime.' Morrissey has also been regarded as 'the most singular figure in Western popular culture from the last twenty years.' Morrissey's lyrics vary greatly in subject and range from doomed relationships to prison of home to lonely nightclubs. The musician is greatly renowned for his energetic live performances and known for his quaff haircut and a unique baritone voice.
Steven Patrick Morrissey has nine albums to his record and has earned many awards and much acclaim. He is quite an influence for upcoming lyricists and vocalists and continues to perform actively just the way that he used to.
