About Bryan Ferry

Having been born in the city of Washington in Durham County, Bryan Ferry is a musician, a signer and a songwriter. It was back in 1975 that Ferry achieved nine O Levels and began studying fine art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. His teacher at the university was a pioneer British pop artist. Having graduated, Bryan Ferry began teaching pottery in a London school. Later in time, he worked as a singer with two bands namely The Banshees and The Gas Board. However, it was not until he formed the band, Roxy that his musical career could gain limelight. This band included Ferry's friends and acquaintances.

The early members of the band include Andy Mackay (oboist and saxophonist) and Brian Eno (synthesizer) along with Bryan Ferry himself and his friend Graham Simpson. There were also Dexter Lloyd (timpanist) and David O'List (guitarist, who were replaced by Phil Manzanera and Paul Thomson before the band could release their first album. From 1971 up till 1982, Ferry worked with Roxy and emphasizing not only on music but also fashion and many other things. In 1982, the band's happening were halted and Ferry began his solo career. In total, Bryan Ferry has released thirteen solo studio albums and has gained significant recognition.

He has enjoyed titles from magazines, award nominations, commercial success, global critical acclaim and just everything that is needed to become a successful musician. He has numerous awards to his record and is not just an active musician but also politically active, staunchly supporting the Conservative Party.
