About Britney Spears

Having been accredited with the influence that revived pop music in the teens of 1990s, Britney Spears is one of the highest acclaimed and most popular musicians ever to have come out from any part of the world. Since her childhood, Spears had been appearing in teen roles such as acting on the stage but it was in 1997 that she signed with Jive Records and released her first album �Baby One More Time in 1999. That was it and Britney's endless success story began. The title track of this album, along with that of her second album, Oops!... I Did it Again were both, international number 1 hits.

Britney released her third studio album, Britney in 2001 and promoted its songs by appearing in the movie, Crossroads. In 2003, she released In the Zone and it was after this that her personal life took her into a hiatus. Before going out of the scene, she released two compilation albums. Spears reappeared in 2007 with her fifth studio album, Blackout which did not receive much fame but held super hit and chart topping singles, Piece of Me and Gimme More. The following year, Britney led numerous tours to hospitals and rehab centers and was rather famed for experiencing bad time but the same year, she released Circus that held a global chart topping single, Womanizer. Following its success, she came up with an international super hit song, 3 and in 2011, album Femme Fatale came out that topped in Billboards 200 and held a single, Hold It Against Me that became her 4th number 1 US single.

With each of her albums, Britney Spears was seen of albums and singles charts not just in the states but all over the world. She has won numerous awards and according to Forbes, is one of the most mentioned musicians on the internet. She is also the 8th top selling female artist in the US and 8th artists of Billboards for 2000s. Forbes also mentioned her as 100 Most Powerful and Influential Celebrities in the World.
