About Duran Duran

Duran Duran is one of the most renowned bands in England with New Wave style of singing. They began from Birmingham in the year 1978. During 1980s, this band was at its peak and among the most famous bands. In the addition, Duran Duran was leading in Second British Invasion, the MTV Driven. This group has produced some of the most popular songs since 80s and 14 of their songs have been able to make place in the top 10 UK Singles chart. Other than this, 21 of their songs have been rated in the Billboard Hot 100 songs. A very popular newspaper of Birmingham, Sunday Mercury revealed that Duran Duran has sold more than 100 million records.

In the beginning of their career, they were considered to be a part of New Romantic scene. However, after this, they made their image to be changed and so they worked with a lot of fashion designers. While they worked with these fashion designers, they got the nickname, the prettiest boys in rock. The videos that were released by this group during the early 80s were although a bit controversial, but brought them popularity. Duran Duran was one of the earliest bands that got their videos shot by the directors that were professional. One of the reasons for the popularity of these videos was that the cameras that were used to shoot these were those which were used to shoot films. Thus, the quality of the videos was much better than the ones that were made in those days. The band is still quite popular and has been giving some of the most outstanding performances recently.
