About Def Leppard

Def Leppard is an English band that formed in the city of Sheffield in 1977. They have been considered as an important part of the heavy metal movement that begun at the time. After a series of changes in the line-up and joining and leaving of members, the band comprised of Joe Elliot, Vivian Campbell, Phil Collen, Rick Allen and Rick Savage. Since 1992, Elliot has been the vocalist, Campbell and Collin have been the guitarists, Allen has been the drummer and Savage has been the bass guitarist. It was in 1981 that Robert John Lange, known widely with his nick name, Mutt, produced the second album of Def Leppards that was titled, High 'n' Dry. This was when the band eventually gained recognition and popularity.

It was a track from this album, known as Bringing on the Heartbreak that became one of the first metal videos to be played by MTV. The second album of the band was released in 1982 from which, the single, Photograph made, �Def Leppard' a household name. In 1987, Def Leppard released the album, Hysteria that not only won 12 platinum certifications but also contained singles that topped the charts around UK and USA. The band's next album, Adrenalize also peaked on the charts around UK and USA completing the peak time of Def Leppard's success.

Along with numerous awards and recognitions, the band boasts many top ratings and the honor of being one of those five rock bands in the world who have sold more than 10 million copies of two original studio albums in the US
