About Go West

Go West

Formed in 1982, Go West is an English band formed in the city of Kingston. It was formed by Pete Cox who is the drummer as well as the lead vocalist and Richard Drummie who is the vocalist. Since its formation, the line up of the band has neither been changed nor been hindered. Go West has released a number of successful productions which have popularized them largely in the United Kingdom but in the United Sates, they are known for their singles, Faithful and King of Wishful Thinking. Drummie and Cox both had done a lot for music and had all planning in line to begin a musical career but lacked a few facilities.

Finally, with the help of their manager, John Glover, the band released two singles, We Close Our Eyes and Call Me. We Close Our Eyes debuted at Number 5 on US Dance Club Play Chart and UK Singles Chart. On Billboard Hot 100, it secured a place at Number 41. All thanks to the recruited guitarist, Alan Murphy who helped Cox and Drummie define their musical identity. The video for We Close Our Eyes became a favorite at MTV while the song itself became the soundtrack for an Italian horror movie, Démoni. Together with this single, Don't Look Down and Call Me remained the first Top 40 hits of the United States that the band produced.

Since then, there was no looking back and the British duo carried an immense encouragement on their shoulders to move further with equal zeal and zest. Up till 2010, the band released six albums and remained chart toppers all across the Atlantic.
