About Deadmau5
Deadmau5 is a Canadian musician who produces house, electro and progressive music. Known more commonly with the stage name as mentioned above, the musician was born Joel Thomas Zimmerman in the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada in 1981. His productions have been featured in compilation albums of various DJs but Deadmau5's own album came out in 2006. This album was titled, Get Scrapped. Deadmau5 is known for performing in a mask that resembles the head of a mouse. He created this while he was learning to use 3D software.
This album is a very fine amalgamation of numerous musical genres such as Noise Pop, IDM, Trip Hop and Ambient/Downtempo. Right after the release of his first album, Deadmau5 began his own production house known as mau5trap in collaboration with Ministry of Sound and Ultra Records. He used this production house to release his next album in 2008 which was titled as Random Album Title. It spawned numerous hit singles that peaked on many charts in UK. The musician's a 2010 album, 4x4=12 also remained considerably well received and did manage to spawn singles that became immensely popular.
He has been highly appreciated by music channels and has won numerous awards including six Beatport Music Awards from which he won five, one Grammy Award nomination, seven International Dance Music Awards nominations from which he won three and five Juno Awards nominations from which he won three. He has won many awards for his dance performances and has stated that he supports David Guetta and Lady Gaga for introducing dance to pop music scene and paving way for him to bring this talent of his to limelight.
