Gorillaz

Gorillaz is one of the most popular music bands in England. This band was formed in 1998. The members of this band that are seen in front are basically fictional and appear in the form of cartoons. The actual members who are behind the scene include Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albam. The animated members that front the public are four in number namely 2D, who is the lead singer, handles Metallica and the keyboard. The second member is Murdoc Niccals who is responsible to drumming and bass guitar. Then comes; Noodle who handles guitar, plays keyboard and at times also becomes a singer. After him is Russel Hobbs who is responsible for percussion and handles the drum.

This band participates in different performances through their website or through different music videos. In addition, other means are also used for their performance like cartoons. The first album of the band was released in 2001 namely Gorillaz. This album made the sales of more than seven million copies. Their name was included in the Guinness Book of World Record for being the Most Successful Virtual Band. During the same year, it became one of the nominees for the Mercury Prize. However the name of the band was withdrawn afterwards as they requested it. The second album of the band, Demon Days was certified platinum five times in the UK. In addition, it got double platinum in the US. Other than this, it has been one of the nominees for Grammy Award five times. The band is still progressing successfully and has released its last album during the current year.
