About Basement Jaxx

Basement Jaxx rose to limelight in the late 1990s from being an underground band to becoming chart toppers. The London based band comprises of Simone Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton. The due does fabulous house music and has also won BRIT Awards the years 2002 and 2004, for the category of �Best Dance Act�. Beginning in 1994, the due held nights at various venues with the most frequented one being Basement Jaxx-the namesake of the band. Other nightclubs that they performed in include The Crypt, The George IV, The Junction and Rooty after which they named their second album, Rooty.

In the year 1999, Basement Jaxx came up with their first album which was called Remedy. One of the songs from Remedy, known as Red Alert, received a great acclaim and was featured in the commercials of Coca Cola and Nickelodeon as well as in the movie, Bend It Like Beckham. The singles from the second album also became immensely famous. The video of the song, Romeo was a tribute to the Bollywood style of movies while Where�s Your Head At became the soundtrack for the movie Tomb raider and became an international hit in 2002. In 2003, their third album came out further providing hit singles that featured in movies and in 2006 came their fourth album. In between, Basement Jaxx releases remixes and video versions of their singles and gave a number of memorable performances.

Two albums are released in the year 2009 but the major emphasis of the band has been on working with other internationally renowned musicians and producing remixes. They are now, popular and highly demanded for their remix talents and are working with some of the greatest artists of the time as well as giving stage and TV performances.
