James Taylor is a legendary American musician who has five Grammy Awards to his record along with numerous other honors and recognitions. Taylor began taking music coaching since a very young age and learned to play cello before switching on to guitar. At a later point in time, he met an aspiring guitarist and together with him, James Taylor began playing around the town in coffee houses and other such settlements at the age of 14. In 1964, Taylor joined the band, The Corsayers, which was formed by his brother, Alex. The band's name later changed to The Fabulous Corsayers and in 1964, it released the first album with a song by Taylor on the B-side.
Soon afterwards, James Taylor went into deep depression, lost his grades, began sleeping 20 hours and day and was unable to get into any college. Subsequently, he received rehabilitation from a hospital in Belmont. Later on, he moved to New York City to form a band, The Flying Machine. The band played regularly at night clubs but Taylor soon went on drugs, the band declined and broke up. He again went on to receive a treatment. After recovering, Taylor moved to London to pursue a solo career. From there, he began an everlastingly successful career and became immensely popular. His 1970 album, Sweet Baby James took him to the height of his career earning his several Grammy nominations and critical acclaim.
Yet again, troubled times and divorce entered his life but he managed to maintain success. In 1985, Taylor re-married and went into a hiatus. In 1997, he came back with another super hit album and in 2001, married for the third time. He now has 13 albums to his record and is still active, enjoying high success and groundbreaking popularity.
