About Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon is a band from America that does indie rock music. It was formed in Tennessee in 1999. It consists of Michael Jared Followill, Anthony Caleb Followill and Ivan Nathan Followill who are brothers along with their cousin Cameron Mathew Followill. Anthony Caleb is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Ivan Nathan is the drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist, Michael Jared is the backing vocalist and bass guitarist and Cameron Mathew is the lead guitarist and the backing vocalist of the family band. Initially, the band began with upbeat music blending together, influences from blues and Southern Rock but with time, widened their list of genres and touched arena rock as well as alternative rock alongside others. Kings of Leon's success came to notice when they won two BRIT Awards in 1998, spawned nine singles that reach Top 40 and having all three of their albums taken to Top 5 in the UK Albums Chart.
The third album of the band, Because Of The Times was the highest rated of all their albums, reaching Number 1. Success in the UK had been l considerably large but in the UK, their chart success came with the release of the fourth album, Only By The Night in the September of 2008. On the list of 'Hot Modern Rock Tracks', the singles of Kings of Leon, Notion, Sex on Fire and Use Somebody managed to reach Number 1.
This album became the first ever platinum selling ones in the United States and remained the best selling album of Australia for the year, 2008, getting platinum citified, nine times. Kings of Leon continue to enjoy fame and success and released their fifth album in 2010. They have won numerous awards and appeared in many documentary films.
