About Little Man Tate

Little Man Tate were an English indie rock band from Sheffield. They formed up in 2005 comprising Dan Fields, Jon Windle, Ben Surtees and Edward Marriot (Maz) and disbanded four years later, in 2009. Soon after its formation, Little Man Tate caught the attention of numerous recording companies and in 2006, got signed to V2 Records but only until 2007. The band is known for its single, Sexy in Latin which became its highest ever charting release and reached Number 20 in the UK Singles Chart. Little Man Tate gathered a large amount of fan base from internet using their personal forum as well as MySpace in order to be able to co-ordinate fans and communicate with them.

Since the age of 15, Windle and Marriot had remained in several bands together and they formed Little Man Tate in 2001. Originally the band was six-piece and named Carousel Moon. In 2005, the bane of the band was changed to Lazy Eye and the line-up changed too. Finally, the current line-up came into place and a name, inspired from the 1991 movie, Little Man Tate was kept. In the September of 2005, the band began touring and then went on to released many singles, almost all of which charted. Their debut album reached Number 27 on the UK Albums Chart.

The band released two albums while their final release was their tenth single, I Am Alive which was released in 2009. They gave two final performances at O2 Academy in the same year and split up. As of June 2011, Fields is accompanying Jon Windle as drummer, Marriot is a session musician, Jon Windle has gone solo and Surtees is a DJ.
