Counting Crows

Forming in 1981 in London, England, Conflict is an anarcho-punk band that originally comprised of six members but later saw changes in line-up several times. At the time when it was formed, Colin Jerwood and Pauline were its vocalists, Big John was the bass guitarist, Francisco Carreno, who was also known as Paco, was the drummer, Steve was the guitarist and Paul, who was also known as Nihilistic Nobody was the visual artist. By the time Conflict released its first album, the vocalist Pauline and visual artist Paul had left the band already. This album was titled It's Time to See Who's Who. At a later point in time, the band set up its own recording company that released not just their albums but also for other bands.

In 1983, a band member from Crass, Steve Ignorant, appeared with Conflict for their number that supported animal rights. This song was titled, To A Nation of Animal Lovers. Soon after this, Crass disbanded and Steve Ignorant permanently joined Conflict. Conflict has been known for supporting human and animal rights and being outspoken about their views in their concerts and all other appearances. The band have openly spoken against anarchism and supported anti-war movement and animal rights. They have also contributed extensively towards the organization, Class War.

The band is still active with Eva Scragg, Steve Ignorant, Paul Hoddy, Matthew Zilch, Ferenc Collins, Mandy Spokes, Kevin Webb, Chris Parish, Spike Smith and Marshall Penn in the line-up. Up till 2003, they have released 9 albums, 10 EPs, 5 compilations and 8 live performances.
