About Funeral for a Friend
Funeral for a Friend is a Welsh band from Bridgend that formed in 2001 and has numerous productions to its name. Within 10 years of career, the hardworking band has released five studio albums, one compilation album, sixteen singles, five EPs and one DVD. In 2002, Friend for a Funeral released its first EP, Between Order and Model and in 2003, they released their second EP, Four Ways to Scream Your Name. During this time, the band had received so much fame and such a wide fan following, that it won the 2003 Kerrang! Award in the category of Best UK Newcomer. This award was based on public vote and ensured a large fan base for Friend for a Funeral.
In 2003 and 2004, the band performed at Reading and Leeds Festival while 2004 was mostly spent touring for the promotion of their hit debut album, Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation. This album not only met critical acclaim but also spawned three singles that charted in the UK with two of them at number 19 and one at 20. Throughout 2005 and 2006, the band remained touring around Europe and the US to promote their second album, Hours while the year 2005, also brought them the Kerrang! Award for Best British Band. Friend for a Funeral's albums, Tales Don't Tell Themselves (2007) and Memory and Humanity (2008) also remained immensely successful.
The band has remained in producing EPs, a greatest hits album and making videos for its songs. It has collected much fame and a recognizable number of awards. With Richard Boucher at the bass, Matthew Davies-Kreye as the lead vocalist, Gavin Borough and Kris Coombs-Roberts at the guitar and backing vocals and Ryan Richards at the drums and as an unclean vocalist, the band is enjoying tours and successful concerts.
