About John Mayer

John Mayer

John Mayer is an American singer, songwriter, music producer and a recording artist. He was raised in the state of Connecticut but moved to Boston in Massachusetts to attend the Berklee College of Music. In 1997, he moved to Atlanta in Georgia to further improve his musical talent and skills and there, he began a musical career that was to present him high success and a great deal of encouragement for moving further with it. John Mayer then went on to release his albums and the two, Room for Squares and Heavier Things remained highly successful commercially while an EP, Inside Wants Out released in 1999 had remained a greater hit. Room for Squares was released in 2001 and this is the album that contained the Grammy Award winning single, Your Body is a Wonderland.

The two albums, not including the EP, also achieved a multi-platinum status. By 2005, the talented singer shifted his genre from alternative rock towards blues by taking help from various blues artists. This transition again marked heavy success for John Mayer. In 2996, he released an album, Continuum that was influenced by blues music. It won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album while its single, Waiting on the World to Change won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. In 2009, Mayer released his fourth studio album which was titled, Battle Studies.

As of June 2011, the singer is busy writing material for his next album. Although Mayer has not come up with any album since 2009, he has been in the news for his charitable works and high profile relationships.
