Fightstar is a music al band from England. Their origin is in London and the style of music that they represent is alternative rock. The band began in 2003 with four members. The lead singer, keyboard player and the guitarist in the band is Charlie Simpson, another vocalist and guitarist is Alex Westaway while Dan Haigh is the bass guitarist and Omar Abidi is the drummer. As this band begun its career, there were many questions raised on the future of this band looking at the past pop career of Simpson.

But, as the band began giving performances at various places, it received great appreciation of the people. After this, they released their first extended play, They Liked You Better When You Were Dead in 2005. This album became very popular and became successful. After the release of this album, three of FlightStar's albums have made the place in top 40 charts. In addition, the critics have also admired this album. The first that they released was in 2006. The name of this album was Grand Unification and was considered as one of the best British rock albums of the past decade. In addition, FlightStar was also nominated for different awards such as Kerrang Award in the categories of Best British Band and Best British Newcomer. Thereafter, the band has been producing some of the most outstanding albums. Their album Be Human was released in 2009 which was ranked at number 20 in the UK Albums Chart. The 20th is the highest of all the rankings that their albums have got. The band has announced time off, however they are still working on various projects individually.
