John Fogerty

John Fogerty is an American singer, guitarist as well as songwriter whose genre of focus is rooted into rock and branches out into roots rock and swamp rock. He is widely renowned as Number 1 solo recording artist. In the Rolling Stone magazine, John Fogerty has been rated at Number 40 amongst the 100 Greatest Guitarists and at Number 72 amongst the 100 Greatest Singers. His song Proud Mary has been rated at Number 41 in the list of 100 Greatest Pop Songs while Born on the Bayou has been ranked at Number 53 amongst the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs.

John Fogerty began his career in the 1950s with his brother, Tom Fogerty and formed a band, Tommy Fogerty and the Blue Velvets together with Stu Cook and Dough Clifford. The band was later renamed to The Golliwogs. With this band, Fogerty released singles that remained largely unnoticed. In 1996, Fogerty joined Army reserve unit and in 1967, he was discharged. The same year, the band changed its name to Creedence Clearwater Revival which released its fifth album and from there, things began to change and the band came to limelight. Later on, due to problems differences amongst the band members, the band broke up and John Fogerty began his solo career. In early in 1970s, he released songs that received widespread acclaim but then he went into a hiatus. N 1985, he re-emerged with full force and released songs that charted high.

With a long discography to his name and much of success, John Fogerty is continuing his musical journey and still working towards making more music. In addition, he has also been performing in various events and concerts. He also boasts Grammy nominations.
