About MGMT
MGMT is a musical band from the United States. The band was formed by two members namely Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser. After the band released its first album, for other members joined it. The members who joined the band include Will Berman, James Richardson and Mathew Asti. The band came into contract with the recording companies Red Ink and Columbia Records in the year 2006. The band was called the Artist Of The Day in the year 2007 by spin.com. In the year, 2008 MGMT as declared among the top ten Artist To Watch by Rolling Stone. During the same year, BBC held the BBC's Sound of Top Ten Polls and the band was rated in it at the ninth position.
The first album that the band released was Oracular Spectacular. This album reached at number twelve on the UK albums chart. Along with this, the album was rated at number six in ARIA charts of Australia. In addition to this, the album was rated at number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. Rolling Stone Magazine declared this album as the eighteenth best album of the decade. In addition to all this, the album was declared by NME as the best album of 2008. Other than this, MGMT got several other achievements for this album. In the year 2010, the band became one of the nominees for the Grammy Award for the Best New Artists. After receiving so much appreciation and recognition, the band continued to focus on their quality and the second album that they released was in the year 2010 with the name Congratulations. Their third album is expected t be released during the current year.
