Hadouken

Hadouken! is an English band that first performed in 2006 in Leeds. The members of the band comprise the singer, producer and writer, James Smith, his girlfriend, Alice Spooner who is the synth player, Daniel Rice who is the guitarist and nick Rice who is the drummer. The name of the band is the name of a special attack in the street fighter franchise games, which is used by many players such as Ryu, Dan, Ken, Allen, Gouken, Sakura, Akuma and Sean along with a few others. Later, the band established their own record label with the name of Surface Noise Records in Leeds. Following this performance, Smith began writing songs for the band and released two songs. The single, That Boy That Girl became famous when its video was rated Number 1 at NME Chart of MTV Two.

All throughout 2006, the band continued to hold concerts with the first one in their history being at Dirty Hearts Club in Essex. The first gig to have been played by Hadouken! in London was played a week later. By early 2007, the songs of the band had started to be aired on television and by July the same year, they completed their UK tour. Up till 2009, the band released many singes that charted and gained much popularity.

In 2010, they released an EP and a single and announced that they are currently busy working on their third album. 2011 has however, brought a new production company to the band's record that will be releasing this album.
