About Dio
Dio, born on the 1th of July, 1942 as Ronald James Padavona, was a singer and a song writer. His genre of focus was heavy metal and he was an Italian American. Renowned as one of the greatest rock vocalists of all times, Dio died of stomach cancer on the 16th of May, 2010. Dio is most known for propagating the use of hand gesture of devil horns in the world of metal music and for having a voice that never broke or lost power. All throughout his career, Dio worked with a number of bands and remained a popular member amongst the fans of heavy metal music.
It all began in 1957 when many musicians from around the state of New York formed a band named as The Vegas Kings. The band then changed their name to be known as Ronnie and the Rumblers. This band held Dio as the bass guitarist, Billy DeWolf as the singer, Nick Pantas as the guitarist, Tom Rogers as drummer and Jack Musci as the saxophonist. Dio later became the lead singer. After changing the name of the band a number of times and seeing line-up changes, they disbanded in 1967. Dio then went on to form the band Rainbow with Ritchie Blackmore, the guitarist of Deep Purple and some members of the band Elf. He then worked with bands such as Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell. He also had a band named Dio.
The legendary heavy metal singer has also remained in a number of solo projects until his death. Dio is now remembered, honored and thanked all across Europe and the Americas.
