About Battles
Formed in the year 2002, Battles is an American band that focuses on the genre of experimental rock. It comprises of guitarists Dave Konopka and Ian Williams as well as the drummer, John Satiner. Where Stainer was formerly in the band, Helmet, Williams has been a part of Storm & Stress as well as Don Caballero while Konopka has come from the band Lynx. Unlike other bands, Battles did not focus on releasing two or three singles and finally coming up with an album bin the initial days but rather concentrated well on the many extended plays that they released. These EPs were followed by the release of their first album named EP C/B EP in 2006 which included the two EPs namely EP C and B EP as well as the single titled Tras.
The first full length album produced by Battles was titled Mirrored and was released in the year 2007. It received high acclaim and also enjoyed high positions in various charts. The first single of this album alone was so highly appreciated that it was ranked as 'Best Single of The Week' by NME Magazine, got fabulous reviews in UK's Clash Magazine and a ranking of Number 1 in Dandelion Radio Festive Fifty. This sing was also performed at BBC. Songs from this album have been performed on stages around the United Kingdom has are enjoying a great deal of success. Many of the songs have been selected for campaigns and movies leaving Battles with a high encouragement.
The second album of the band is due to be released in the June of 2011 and is going to feature a number of guests. Their performances around the UK will continue and have already been planned. Promotional tour of the second album will be held in December 2011.
