Born in the state of Massachusetts, Jonatha Brookes emerged as a guitarist, folk singer and a song writer from Illinois. Although majorly folk, Brooke’s music also has elements of pop and rock often coupled up with complex harmonies and touching lyrics. Since the late 1980s, Jonatha Brookes has been an artist, a performer and a writer and many of her songs have been featured in movies and TV shows. Jonatha Brooke began performing during her college days with a fellow Jennifer Kimball who was from Boston. The two played and regularly and received heavy critical acclaim with Jonatha, in particular, being highly praised and acclaimed.

During the 1990s, Jonatha Brooke was coupled up with the promising artists of the time such as Cheryl Crow, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Indigo Girls and Shawn Colvin. She took a brief hiatus from writing and singing during which, she tried her luck in ballet. Together with Jennifer Kimball, Jonatha Brooke released two albums, Grace in Gravity and The Angel in the House in 1991 and 1993 respectively. From 1994 onwards, she pursued her solo career. Her debut solo album, Plumb met mixed critics’ reviews. During the mid-1990s, she embarked on a tour when she was dumped by MCA records halfway through the tour but she continued to perform, enjoyed high applaud and sold out concerts. Since then, she began to be known as strong and powerful.

Until 2008, the singer released 10 albums some of which spawned singles that remained great hits. She has had the honor of being a judge for music awards, owing to her unparalleled talents. She is a highly celebrated artists who is still enjoying collaborations with various companies and musicians and releasing appreciable works.
