Guillemots, often referred to as gUiLLeMoTs is a Birmingham based band that has been nominated for BRIT Awards several times. It was formed in 2004 and consists of Greig Stewart, MC Lord Magrão, the founder Fyfe Dangerfield and Aristazabal Hawkes. Success and fame has been a part of the band’s careers since the very beginning when in 2006, the first album of Guillemots, Through the Windowpane was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The band has also enjoyed a few chart successes. Their song, Get Over It reached Number 20 at UK Singles Chart and their second album, which was titled Red managed a position of Number 9 in UK Album Charts. Guillemots then began to travel largely and heavily promoted all their released. After getting through all the touring, the band released their third album, Walk The River in 2011.
The band has made innumerable live performances which have all remained immensely successful. This validates the talent of the four members of the band and tells how much fun it can be to attend Guillemots’ live performances and concerts. Some of the most memorable performances from the band have been given at the opening for Rufus Wainwright in 2005, BBC Four Documentary in 2007, the 2006 Top of the Pops show, the V Festivals of 2007 and 2008, Latitude Festival along with many others.
Since the second album, Guillemots have been in a hiatus with the band members busy in solo careers but they have appeared at various spots for live performances. According to an interview, the band plans to reunite and continue working further.
