About Angels and Airwaves
Angels & Airwaves(AVA) is an American rock supergroup formed in September 2005 by Blink-182 guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge. The band also includes guitarist David Kennedy, from Over My Dead Body, Hazen Street and Box Car Racer, drummer Atom Willard from The Offspring and Rocket from the Crypt, and bassist Matt Wachter from 30 Seconds to Mars.
Their first album, We Don't Need to Whisper, was released on May 23, 2006. album reached 4th on the Billboard 200, and went gold. Their second studio album, title I-Empire was released on November 6, 2007. Their next album was released Lpve was released on Valentines Day 2010. It was downloaded nearly 500,000 times during the first 48 hours after its release day making it the most downloaded album in history. Delonge has confirmed that a second studio album in the Love project along with the Love film are set for release in November 2011.
In 2006 Angels and Airwaves song The Adventure from album We Don’t Need to Whisper was nominted as the Best New Artist in a Video, Best Special Effects in a Video and Best Editing in a Video at MTV Video Music Awards. The album, We Don’t Need to Whisper, in 2006 was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best Effects and Best Editing for The Adventure music video, they also won MTV's Woodie of the Year in 2007.
