About Jason Donovan

Having received immense success from the soap opera titled, Neighbors, Jason Donovan emerged as a talented singer and actor from Australia. Only within the UK, he has sold over 3 million records and his debut album, which was titled, Ten Good Reasons, remained the highest selling album for the year, 1989. It sold over 1.5 million copies. Jason Donovan has four singles to his record which reached Number 1 in the UK. These include the 1988 single, Especially for You which was a duet with the world-renowned Kylie Minogue. From 1988 up till 1992, Jason Donovan produced 16 singles which reached amongst the Top 40 in UK charts.

From 1992 till 1993, Donovan could not concentrate much on his musical career, saw breakup with Kylie Minogue and worked in a film and a musical. The latter was signed because his singing abilities were being questioned. Around the same time, he released a single, Any Dream Will Do that became his third single to reach Number 1 in the UK. Soon afterwards, the magazine, The Face termed Donovan as gay and Donovan ended up suing the magazine winning �300, 000. This turned his image as a homophobic and despite the many cover-ups that he made, he could not gain back old popularity. According to reports, he regrets this to the present date.

Jason Donovan has also been involved largely with drugs but as of 2000, he claims to have been clean of them. He has released 9 studio albums and lent his voice to video games and ads too. Donovan is currently enjoying parenthood with girlfriend, Angela Malloch and is busy touring, participating in TV shows and appearing in movies.
