Echo and the Bunnymen are of the most popular music band from England. They originated from Liverpool in the year 1978. The original members of the band included a vocalist namely McCulloch, bassist, Les Pattinson and the guitarist, Will Sergeant. For drum, they took support of a drum machine. A drummer, Pete de Freitas, joined the group in 1980. The debut album of the band, Crocodile received a great appreciation. This album was rated in the top 20 albums of the UK Chart. The band released its second album, Heaven Up Here in 1981. This album was also a big hit and got the 10th position in the UK Album Chart.
After the release of this album, Echo and the Bunnymen released its third album with the name, Porcupine in 1983. This album brought the band into the line, mainstream swinger. This is because the album was rated number 2 in the top albums of UK. In addition, the song of this album, The Cutter was also rated in the UK top 10 songs. The next album Ocean Rain that they released in 1984 was also rated in the UK top albums. However after the release of one more album, Echo & The Bunnymen that was released in 1987, one of the members of the band, McCulloch left the band to continue his career as a solo singer. The very next year, a member, Freitas died in a road accident. But still the band continued with new members joining it. Echo and the Bunnymen is still intact, making albums and has been touring to give performances in various places.
