Mudhoney is an American band whose genre of focus is Alternative and Grunge music. It was formed in 1988 after the band; Green River came to an end. Its members Steve Turner and Mark Arm joined up with Dan Peter and Guy Maddison to form Mudhoney. Peters is the drummer of the band, Arm is the rhythm guitarist, Maddison is the bassist and Turner is the lead guitarist. Originally, the bassist for the band was Matt Lukin who left the band in 1999 but rejoined it for a tour in 2000 before leaving again. Mudhoney's single, Touch Me I'm Sick and EP, Superfuzz Bigmuff became quite influential as far as the music scene of Seattle is concerned and became an inspiration for the Grunge music that comprises highly distorted dirty sounds.
The band has released ten studio albums but has received little commercial success outside the fan following of rock music. Mudhoney are said to be an inspiration for latter coming rock musicians such as Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. Despite lacking commercial success, each of the band's album were recognizable enough to let them higher, gain a larger fan base or get to record with bigger and better recording labels.
The band has toured extensively in order to promote its albums and productions as well as held many concerts, all of which remained quite successful and gave an encouraging feedback. As of July 2011, the last major performance to have been given by Mudhoney was at the music festival, ATP New York 2010 in September 2010.

The tome tells of the big crossover successes-- Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains-- as well as relatively unsung bands like Mudhoney, L7, the Melvins, the U-Men, and Tad, who all helped define a major moment in recent pop music history.

And that's how most people remember it. So it may seem strange that, decades later, we get a group of 20-somethings from Staten Island that churn out the super fuzz of Mudhoney and the uneasy dankness of Jesus Lizard, long after those bands ...
The 2012 model may be my favorite, bringing to mind a more minimalist Mudhoney. Friday's set featured skronky riffs and martial yelpings from the oddly charismatic Will Foster, whose winter beard gives him the air of either Jesus or Manson ...
