About Gossip
Gossip is an American musical band. Their style of music is indie rock and was formed in 1999. The band has total three members; Beth Ditto who is the singer, Brace Paine is the guitarist and Hannah Blilie. They released many albums but were unable to get much fame. However, in 2006 they released their album, Standing in the Way of Control. This album brought this group fame and popularity. The music that is being played by the band now is the combination of dance-punk and post punk indie rock.
The origin of the band is from Washington. They appeared for the first time on a TV show of BBC1, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. On this show, they gave performance from their album, Standing in The Way of Control. During 2007, Gossip made the tour to different cities of Canada and the United States as a part of multi artist True Colors Tour 2007. The sponsor of this tour was a TV channel, Logo. They released an album, Music For Men in 2009. One of the songs of this album, Heavy Cross that was released in the beginning was a great success and got triple Gold Certificate in Germany. This was because it made sales of more than 450,000 copies. This song was declared as 'most successful internationally produced single'. It broke all the records of Germany by staying for sales for the longest period of time. During January, 2001, the song remained among the top 100 in Germany for constant 82 weeks.
