About Duffy
Born in Wales, Aimée Ann Duffy is a singer and a songwriter who got hr major breakthrough right after the release of her first album, Rockferry. The album was released in 2008 when it reached Number 1 in the UK Album Chart and remained the highest-selling album in the UK for that year. This album sold 1.68 million copies within the UK and more than 6 million worldwide. It received platinum certifications several times and won Duffy 2009's Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. The same year, she also won three BRIT Awards.
Duffy's second album, Endlessly, was released on the 29th of November, 2010 and in 2011, she announced a hiatus from music before releasing her third album. Having acted occasionally, Duffy did her debut film in 2010 that was titled, Patagonia. Duffy began her musical career right after getting through her GCSEs at the age of 15. She began performing with various bands and even spent a year in Switzerland. Duffy was then invited to participate in a Welsh television talent show, Wawffactor. She remained the runner up. This took her to make music further in 2004 when she released her first EP that managed to reach up at Number 1 on the Welsh chart.
Duffy has toured extensively to promote her albums and has provided music and soundtracks for many TV shows and movies with the ones for Grey's Anatomy and Sex and the City two of her popular works. She has numerous awards to her name including a Grammy Award, a MOJO Award and a Q Award.
