About Dodgy
Dodgy, an English band composing and producing the power pop rock music, is based in London and came to prominence in the 1990s during the Britpop era. It all began when Nigel Clark, David Griffiths and Mathew Priest from the town of Redditch came to forma band, Purple. The trio began rehearsing in their living quarters in Battersea and later got a house in Hounslow where they turned their garage into the recording studio. Purple played and performed extensively around London during this time.
After a few changes in line-up due to leaving members, Dodgy emerged with Nigel Clark being its bassist, Mathew Priest being the drummer and a new comer, Andy Miller being the guitarist. It was then that Dodgy released its debut album. All throughout the 1990s, the band was known for its concerts and live performances and the support that it lent for social causes. Until 1997, Dodgy toured many parts of the world holding successful concerts and giving memorable performances. In 1998, Clark left the band to concentrate on is solo career and continued to do so until 2007. During this time, Miller and Priest met Nick Abnett, David Bassey and Chris Hallam who became the bassist, vocalist and keyboardist respectively. As a five piece, the band released just one album.
In 2007, Priest, Clark and Miller rejoined, came up with a live album and accounted a reunion tour. Since then, the band have toured extensively and contributed majorly towards charity. They have 4 studio albums, 3 downloads, 2 compilation albums and 2live albums to their record along with numerous singles.
