About Korn
Korn is an American band from California that was formed in 1993 and does nu metal music. As of June 2011, the band's line-up includes James Shaffer (Monkey), Jonathan Davis, Ray Luzier and Reginald Arvizu (Fieldy). In the same year of its formation, the band released its demo album, Neidermeyer's Mind followed by their debut album, Korn in 1994. In the April of 1996, Korn began recording its second album, Life Is Peachy and released is in October, the same year. However, it was not until the release of the band's third album, Follow the Leader that they could achieve mainstream success. It gained a position of Number 1 on Billboard 200 in 1998. A similar position was enjoyed by their 1999 album, Issues. Up till 2010, the band has released nine studio albums and sold over 16 million albums in the United States alone and 40 million albums worldwide.
Out of all the official releases from Korn, ten have enjoyed a positioning amongst Top 10 in the Billboard 200 chart and from these ten; eight have enjoyed remaining amongst the Top 5. These five releases have been certified platinum and/or multi-platinum from RIAA and one has been certified with gold. As of June 2011, 26 out of 38 of Korn's singles have charted and the band has won two Grammy Awards out of seven nominations.
Korn has collaborated with many and held many successful concerts. Its performances in various festivals have also been highly applauded. Despite the changed in line-up, the band continues to serve the music industry, enjoy a great deal of success and is kicking asses.
