About Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson is an American singer, songwriter and musician, born in the city of Oahu, Hawaii. In addition to his musical career, Jack Johnson is also a surfer. Primarily a folk rock singer, Johnson also concentrates on of soft rock and acoustic genres. It was with the release of his debut album, Bushfire Fairytales in 2001 that commercial success and popularity were achieved by Jack Johnson. Up till 2011, the singer has 5 albums in his discography along with numerous EPs movie soundtracks and other productions. Johnson has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide with Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George being his highest selling album. It was the success of the 2006 animated film, Curious George that had 4 million copies of this album shipped globally.

Being the son of a renowned surfer, Jeff Johnson, Jack initially developed interest in the sport of surfing and became well-known for it at a very young age. It was not until he entered college that Jack Johnson developed interest in music and began playing rhythm guitar for a party named Soil. In 1999, he had his first ever musical experience was the single Rodeo Clown for the 1999 album of G. Love that was titled, Philadelphonic. He then worked on a couple of documentary films before releasing his first album in 2001.

Jack Johnson is married to his college sweetheart, Kim with whom he has a girl and two boys. He has enjoyed numerous successful tours around the globe, works considerably for charity and has a balanced professional and family life.
