About Katie Melua

Born on the 16th of September, 1984, Katie Melua is a British singer of Georgian descent. In addition, she is also a musician and a songwriter. Currently, Melua is signed to a small recording label, Dramatico and is being managed by Mike Batt, who is a composer. In 2003, Katie Melua made her musical debut and by 2006, she became the best selling female singer of United Kingdom as well as Europe's highest selling European female artist. It was at the age of 19 that Melua released her debut album, which was titled Call Off the Search which reached Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart and within five months of its release, sold 1.8 million copies. Her second album, Piece by Piece was released in 2005 and as of June 2011, has gone platinum four times.

Katie Melua is the seventh richest British musician under the age of 30, as per the rating of Sunday Time Rich List of 2008. The global economic downfall however severely affected her fortune leaving her with just half of it by May, 2011. In 2007, Melua came up with her third album, Pictures of which, an iTunes version is also available and in 2010, she came up with her fourth album, The House. Melua has also had a little but good modeling and acting experience.

She has also entered the Guiness Book of Records for setting a record that no one else has ever made. This is about playing the deepest underwater concert at a level, 303 meters below sea. His concert was held in the North Sea near the coast of Norway. Melua also works for charity and is enjoying her success and fame.
