Having formed in 1993, Boyzone is known to be one of the most famous and successful bands ever to have emerged from the United Kingdom and Ireland. The band comprises of five members namely Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy, Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately (late) and Mikey Graham. To their record, the band have 9 singles to have been ranked amongst the top 5 in Ire, 9 number 1 hits in Irish singles chart, 18 singles that were ranked amongst the top 10 in UK and six singles that were ranked number 1 in the UK. Moreover, they have five albums that were rated number 1.Boyzone has sold 20 million record until 2010 not just in the British Isles but all around the globe.

The band was formed when Irish theatrical manager, Walsh, was looking forwards to make an Irish version of the world renowned boy band, Take That. Advertisements were given in the newspapers and 300 candidates appeared. Auditions were held and after a series of rejections and problems, the five members as listed above, were finally selected for the group. Since their very first album, the band has been immensely successful and before any recording company could sign them up, pubs and clubs all over Northern Ireland signed them.  Until 1998, three albums were released and promotional tours were held. Each of them broke sales records and reexamined truly successful. After a hiatus, another album was released in 2000 after which, three more albums came out. The last one was in 2011. In 2009, the band Gately died while holidaying in Spain and the remaining members suffered a big loss.

All the albums made their mark on the charts around the UK and gave the band, a great deal of popularity and success once again. The band is currently busy recording another album
