Known more because of the personal life of Pete Doherty, Babyshambles is a UK musical band, based in London. The band formed in the same city around the time when Pete Doherty had nearly broken up with his former band, The Libertines. Even though Doherty is fully trying to re-unite with the Libertines, his main focus these days is Babyshambles. Babyshambles has two albums on its record along with three extended plays and a significant number of singles. According to the critics, most of the fame that Babyshambles has gotten is due to the personal life of Pete Doherty.
Doherty has been greatly involved in drugs and an abusing habit with the latter one being the reason of hiatus with the band, The Libertines. In 2004, Babyshambles comprised of Pete Doherty as the lead vocalist, Gemma Clarke as drummer and Patrick Walden as guitarist. The two sons of an English song-writer, Peter Perrette are also parts of the band. Jamie handled the guitar while Peter Junior handles the bass. The band began touring around the UK in 2004, gaining wide acclaim and respect. Many of the gigs were missed by Doherty, the vocalist and Babyshambles has seen many changes in its line-up before everything was finalized in the summer of 2004. In 2005, Gemma Clarke left the band being replaced by Adam Ficek and in 2010, Adam too left the group. In spite of the changes in band members and hence line-ups, the band has enjoyed many albums and songs topping the chart in UK.
Currently, Babyshambles comprises Pete Doherty as guitarist, pianist and lead vocalist, Steve Bedlow as vocalist, Drew McConnell as bassist, Patrick Walden and Nick Whitnall as guitarists and Danny Geoffrey as the drummer. Together, they are enjoying gigs, wide acclaim and high positioning all over the UK.
