About Genesis
Genesis is a musical band from England. It was formed in 1967 and is known for playing rock music. The members of the band that have stayed with it for the longest period of time include Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins. During the initial years of the band, the previous members Steve Hackett, Anthony Phillips and Peter Gabriel also played a vital role in building up the band. Genesis is rated among the top 30 bands in terms of sales. The band has sold nearly 150 million albums all over the world.
The band was initially pop rock. However during 70s it made changes to itself and was started be recognized as progressive rock band. In addition, they got advanced instrument for making their songs. A very interesting thing was to see the décor of their stage wherever they performed. The designs of the stage were quite unique and pioneering. Genesis also made it recognized by the people by giving long performances. One of the songs of this band Supper's Ready is 23 minutes long. During 1980s, the band again started to produce pop rock music. During this period, one of their albums, Duke made the place at number one in the UK. In addition, their only song Invisible Touch made place at number one in the United States. The members of the band have been changed many times. In spite of this, Genesis has continued to produce nice albums and songs. In 2010, the name of the band has been taken into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
