Ace Frehley Biography

Paul Daniel Frehley was born on April 27, 1951 and is better known as Ace Frehley of KISS fame. Ace Frehley is a guitarist best known as an original member and lead guitarist for the rock band KISS founded by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Frehley took on the persona of Space Ace when the band started painting their faces and putting on costumes and theatrics. Ace Frehley played with the group from its inception in 1972 until his departure in 1982.

After leaving Kiss, Frehley embarked on a successful solo career, but he rejoined Kiss in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. His second wind with Kiss lasted until 2002, when he left at the conclusion of the bands Farewell Tour. He has since resumed his solo career although to date, he has not released any new music.

Ace Frehley appeared with Rob Zombie, Slash, Tommy Lee, Scott Ian and Gilby Clarke on VH1's "Rock Honors" program in 2006, and was featured last year in a Zach Braff-directed Dunkin' Donuts commercial, appearing as himself in full KISS makeup and costume. Ace Frehley is known for his delirious, frenzied, and atmospheric guitar playing that inspired a generation of guitar players.

Some quotes from Ace Frehley:

That's what Kiss is all about - not just music, but entertainment, ya know? We are there to take you away from your problems, and rock and roll all night and party every day for those two hours you're at the concert.

The bottom line is the Kiss Army is growing by leaps and bounds.

The guys in my band are good friends on and off the stage. The band members that I have now is probably the best band that I have ever had.

We're bigger now than we were in the late 70s when we were peaking.
